The Key that Opens Doors

“Giving a gift opens doors; it gives access to important people!” Proverbs 18:16 (NLT)
Too often people think that to get somewhere in life they need to receive something. In other words, in order for me to get ahead I need to get that good break, I need to get that raise; I need to get that loan to go through. Really, it is just the opposite. You see, in Aslan’s kingdom, everything is upside down. When we focus on what we need to get from people to get things to happen sometimes we get stressed out and it just backfires on us. The key to opening the doors to seeing those secret petitions come to pass is to be generous; to be a giver. That’s right, what you give away will always come back to you. Sometimes giving a gift to someone can open the door to a divine connection. Maybe that person knows someone who can help you. You see, the key to everything is giving. Remember that the seed is in the barn, but unless we prepare that seed and then give it away we will never reap a harvest. In other words, are you just sitting at home waiting and saying, “Well when God tells me to go I will go. I am just waiting on God to bring the right people to pass. When God wants to restore my situation he will.”

With that kind of thinking don’t be surprised if it never happens and you end up getting bitter with Great Spirit. Now don’t get me wrong, I am all for being still, having a sense of peace, and listening to the spirit. I also know that there was a man named Isaiah who when asked, “Who should I send?” His response was, “Here I am. Send me!” You have to be willing to do the work with the help of your co-pilot.

Most of us tend to be like Moses or Jeremiah who just need a little extra encouragement to get going. The whole key is that you must be willing to give of your seed’s fruit. You must look for ways to bless all of creation, to be a blessing and in return you will see those important people come into your life. One translation even says your gift will put you before kings. Now that is a promise I would like to hold on to. Think about that, if you were in a bind wouldn’t it be nice to know a king who could help you out? You see, your giving brings you favor from the Great Spirit. Your generosity honors him and when you honor him, he will always honor you. I believe and declare that this day your generosity will give you access to important people allowing you to be the miracle Great Spirit intended for you to be.

Prayer for Today

Great Spirit, Thank you for the spirit of giving. Thank you for allowing me to have a generous spirit. Thank you that my giving opens doors for me to be the miracle. Thank you that my giving opens doors for people to return the favor to me. In the name of the Great Lion, Let this be so.

“The fears ….. will be fulfilled; the hopes of the godly will be granted.” (Proverbs 10:14 NLT) Our life will always move to what we think about most, which is why it is so important to guard your mind. If you are not careful you can think about only negative things and you become a negative person. Have you ever been around that person who only has the news channel on in their house?
