Just Ask

Image
"Aslan- and children from another world," thought Tirian.  "They have always come in when things were at there worst. Oh, if they could only come now." And he called out, "Aslan! Aslan! Aslan! Come help us now." And still there was no change in the night or the wood, but there began to be a kind  of change in Tirian. Without knowing why, he began to feel a faint hope. And he felt somehow stronger. "Oh Aslan, Aslan," he whispered.  "If you will not come yourself, please send your helpers from beyond the world. Or let me call them. Let my voice carry beyond the world." (The Last Battle) Sometimes when we feel the most hopeless, those are perfect times for miracles to occur. One way to get your hopes up is to ask for what you desire. If you desire joy, ask for joy.  If you desire healing, ask for healing. The start of hope is in the asking and when we ask we are speaking it out. We are starting our decree. Once we ask we nee...

Real Magic

"Peace," said the Witch. "I see what you are. You are a little, peddling Magician who works by rules and books. There is no real Magic in your blood or heart. Your kind was an end of a thousand years ago in my world. But here, I shall allow you to be my servant." The Great Spirit lives in all of us and connects us to every part of the universe. When Aslan sacrificed himself on the stone table, he made that connection even stronger. One way he does that is by awakening on the inside of us and allowing us access to the Great Spirit's power. Power to bring supernatural miracles, signs, and wonders to our world. This magic is not found in a black book, it is not found by believing a certain doctrine. It is found by asking the Great Spirit for it. It comes when you have a humble heart and a desire to draw all unto the Great Spirit.  "Well," you might say,"I don't believe that, that power is not for today. I don't believe that miracles sti...

The Very Thing

"But how could it be true, sir?" said Peter. "Why do you say that?" asked the Professor. "Well, for one thing," said Peter,"if it was real why doesn't everyone find this country every time they go to the wardrobe? I men, there ws nothing there when we looked; even Lucy didn't pretend there was." "What has that to do with it?" said the Professor. "Well, sir, if things are real, they're there all the time." "Are they?" said the Professor; and Peter did not know quite what to say. "But there was no time," said Susan. "Lucy had had no time to have gone anywhere, even if there was such a place. She came running after us the very moment we were out of the room. It was less than a minute, and she pretended to have been away for hours." "That is the very thing that makes her story likely to be true," said the Professor. A PRAYER FOR TODAY Great Spirit, Whose voice I hear in...

Change Your Words, Change Your World

Image
We want to encourage you today to watch what you are saying. Your words have creative power, and you can use them as a destructive force or an instrument of blessing. If you continually speak negative words over your life, then eventual defeat will be the result. In the same way, if you speak words of faith and victory, you will see a harvest of blessing not only in your own life but also in the lives of those around you. Remember your mother telling you: "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all?" That was good advice. Don't give life to your negative thoughts by speaking them out. You can't continue to speak negative words filled with doubt and unbelief and expect to have a positive life full of joy and hope. You can change your situation by changing your words. Talk about your visions and your dream s. Declare that you can do all things through Christ. Declare you are more than a conqueror. When you find yourself in a difficult situ...

I Just Know

"The Lion," Lucy said. "Aslan himself. Didn't you see?"  Her face had changed completely and her eyes shone. "Where do you think you saw him?" asked Susan. "Don't talk like a grown up," said Lucy, stomping her foot. "I didn't think I saw him. I saw him.  Right up there, between those mountain ashes...Just the opposite way you want to go. And he wanted us to go up there-where he was." "How do you know that is what he wanted?" asked Edmund. "He-I-I-just know," said Lucy,"by his face...." A PRAYER FOR TODAY GREAT SPIRIT, Thank you for your presence in our lives. Thank you that we are able to see your face in all of creation. Thank you for revealing yourself to us. By the Lion's Mane, Let this be so.

Focus on the Unseen

Image
Every obstacle in your life is subject to change. It doesn’t matter what you may be facing, there is an answer in the unseen. The unseen is the spiritual realm where the promises of God exist. Your faith brings those unseen things into this natural realm. When you are fixed on something, you can’t be moved. There’s a determination that fuels your focus. When you fix your eyes on the unseen—the promises of God—your faith will not be moved by your circumstances, and you’ll eventually see those promises come to pass. Make the decision today to fix your eyes and mind on the promises of God. Meditate on His promises until they become more real to you than the air you breathe. Declare that His promises will come to pass in your life. Declare that you have His favor. Declare that you are more than a conqueror. Don’t allow fear and doubt to change what you are speaking over your life. As you continue to fix your spiritual eyes on the unseen promises of God, you will see those things come...

The Voice

In the darkness something was happening at last. A voice had begun to sing. It was very far away and Digory found it hard to decide from what direction it was coming.  Sometimes it seemed to come from all directions at once. Sometimes he almost thought it was coming oout of the earth beneath them. It's lower notes were deep enough to be the voice of the earth herself. There were no words. There was hardly even a tune. But it was, beyond comparison, the most beautiful noise he had ever heard. It was so beautiful he could hardly bear it.  A PRAYER FOR TODAY GREAT SPIRIT,  Thank you for the opportunity to listen to the earth, the winds, and the four directions. We hear your voice in the winds. We thank you for the drum that beats within us all.  By the Lion's Mane, let this be so.

Who is Aslan?

"Oh yes! Tell us about Aslan!" said several voices at once; for once again that strange feeling-like the first signs of spring, like good news, had come over them. "Aslan?" said Mr. Beaver. "Why, don't you know? He's the King. King of the whole wood,   but not often here, you understand. But the word has reached us that he has come back, He is in Narnia at this moment. He'll settle the White Queen all right. It is he, not you, that will save Tumnus." Wrong will be right, when Aslan comes in sight, At the sound of his roar, sorrows will be no more, When he bares his teeth, winter meets it's death, And when he shakes his mane, we shall have  spring again. A PRAYER FOR TODAY GREAT SPIRIT, Thank you for delivering us from our winter seasons. Thank you for your protection and favor. Most of all, thank you for our king, our guide, our friend, our vindicator, Aslan, the Great Lion.  By the Lion's Mane, Let this be so.

God's Servant

Image
"Am I now trying to win the approval of men, or of God? Or am I trying to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a servant of Christ." Paul was obviously not worried about trying to please the people around him. It's not that he didn't care about others. It's just that he was focused on serving the Lord. Many times you may be too worried about what people think of you, which inhibits you from following God with your whole heart. Instead, follow those God-given desires with reckless abandon because all that will matter in the end is fulfilling God's plan for your life. You are called to serve God without reserve, so fulfill His plan without letting others sidetrack you. A Prayer for Today "God, give me the dedication to be Your servant alone. Help me not to be sidetracked by what others may think of me in Jesus' name. Amen."

The Door to Narnia

"If only the door was open again!" said Scrubb as they went on. For at the top of the shrubbery was a high stone wall and in that wall a door by which you could get out to an open moor. The door was nearly always locked. But there had been times when people found it open; or perhaps there had only been one time. But you can imagine how the memory of even one time kept people hoping, and trying the door; for if it should happen to be unlocked it would be a splendid  way of getting outside the school grounds without being seen. A PRAYER FOR TODAY GREAT SPIRIT, thank you for your wisdom and guidance on our paths each and every day. Thank you for bringing us to our destiny and where there are locked doors to opportunity or safety, you have the power to open them. Thank you for open doors when there does not seem to be a way. Thank you for making a way for us when there is no way.  By the Lion's Mane, Let this be so.

A Sense of Wonder

"They say Aslan is on the move- perhaps already has landed." And now at that very moment a very curious thing happened. None of the children knew who Aslan was any more than you do; but the moment Beaver had spoken these words everyone felt quite different.  Perhaps it has sometimes happened to you in a dream that someone says something which you don't understand but in the dream it feels as if it had some enormous meaning. At the  name of Aslan each of the children felt something jump on the inside. A PRAYER FOR TODAY Great Spirit, Thank you for your favor today. Thank you for your provision and your protection. We know that you are on the move, to help us in every area of our life. Thank you for exceeding expectations. By the Lion's Mane, let this be so

That's what we call FAITH

"Just because you can't see the air doesn't keep you from breathing. And just because you can't see God doesn't keep you from believing."   (The Preacher's Wife)

Discover Your Purpose

Image
Understanding why God put you here is one of the most important principles when it comes to discovering your unique purpose and calling in life. The reason is that knowing why you are here on earth helps you answer the question of why God has uniquely gifted you the way He has and what He has called you to accomplish individually. There's nothing more exciting than to discover your purpose, your area of calling, and really focus on it! Don't let the enemy tell you you've been forgotten or left out. God has not left anybody out. You have talents, you have abilities, you have natural strengths, and you need to be aware of what they are and make sure that you're taking advantage of them and using them for His glory. There is something important that only you can accomplish for God! A Prayer for Today "God, help me to understand clearly the reason You created me and gifted me the way You have so I can fulfill my purpose and experience the joy and victory that com...

Their Own Secret Country

The story begins on an afternoon when Edmund and Lucy were stealing a few precious minute alone together. And of course, they were talking about Narnia, which was the name of their own private and secret country. Their secret country was real.  They had already visited it twice; not in a game or a dream but in reality.  They had got there of course by Magic, which is the only way of getting to Narnia.  And a promise, or very near a promise, had been made to them in Narnia itself that they would some way get back.  You may imagine that they talked about it a good deal, when they got the chance. A PRAYER FOR TODAY GREAT SPIRIT,  Thank you for our secret country where we can escape the present reality to discover who we really are.  Thank you for the opportunity to know you there so we can know you better here. By the Lion's Mane, Let this be so

What Are Your Goals?

Image
The reason it is so important for you to set and achieve goals is that you have a unique purpose that only you can fulfill. It's kind of like building your own house--something you had better not attempt without a clear vision of your goals and a good set of blueprints, or you may wind up with some extra doors or windows and no place to put them! God is the architect of your life. His Word is a blueprint of His hopes and plans for your life. Trust Him to help you set your goals. If you have a problem being focused and setting goals for your life, one of the best things you can do is to start writing them down, both short-term and long-term ones. It's amazing how your life can begin to take shape when you can see on paper where you want to go. A Prayer for Today "God, thank You that You are the architect of my life. Give me the wisdom to follow Your blueprint and set goals that reflect Your desires for me in Jesus' name. Amen."
