Redeeming the Time

"I will cause the sun's shadow to move ten steps backward on the sundial of Ahaz!'" So the shadow on the sundial moved backward ten steps." (Isaiah 38:8) NLT We all have made mistakes. Some of us have times in our life we would soon forget. Others of us started on the right track and lost who we were, became arrogant and tried to make things happen on our own power and not using the power of the Spirit.Things have not turned out like we expected and we go through a desert period.  I am here to tell you, if you are tired of not living up to your potential there is hope. People often say you can't go back again, but I have great news!  You can! The Great Spirit has the power to redeem the time! The time that you missed with your kids because you were working so much. The time that you spent in mourning, the time you spent in a difficult place. It can all be redeemed.   It is described in a story of King Ahaz who wanted to see proof that his miracle...

I Will Reveal

“In your world I have another name. You were brought here so that by knowing me here you would know me better there. You must learn that name and know me by it.” –Aslan: The Great Lion (The Book of Lewis ) There is a connector, a bridge to the Great Spirit, the Creator, our Father, the Emperor Beyond the Sea. What does that mean? The connector, the bridge builder is the one who makes a way for us to have access to the Great Spirit’s power, salvation, and blessings.  Most of us have lived a life where we wish we could have done things better, treated people better, or followed a better road. I have good news. Your salvation is here. There is someone who wants to save you, to help you walk the Red Road and have a connection to the Great Spirit.  He is the great bridge builder and he comes to help you when your spirit needs it the most. His name is Aslan: The Great Lion.  Now, I know what you are thinking, “I was raised in the Christian church and my religion...

Start Small

"Do not despise these small beginnings, for the LORD rejoices to see the work begin, to see the plumb line in Zerubbabel's hand."  (Zechariah 4:10 ) NLT Have you ever wanted something now? Maybe you are starting a new career, a new family, or a new project around home and you want it to be big and the finished product now. That enthusiasm is running high and you can't wait to see it finished. If we are not careful we can miss the moment of what we are being taught. I know I have the tendency to want to push so hard to make something happen that I miss the still small voice of the Great Spirit telling me what He wants to do. How many times do we see young couples get married and then want to start on their life now? For instance, "We just got back from our honeymoon, now we have to get that new house, have some kids, get the suburban." I have found that there is a better way to approach your vision. It says in the book of Zechariah to not des...

Seek Favor

"Another message came to them from the Creator.....to seek the Great Spirit's favor." (Zechariah 7:1 and 2)   Did you know that you are supposed to seek favor from the Creator of the Universe? That's right. We are supposed to seek him first. We are supposed to knock and keep knocking. When we seek we will find. When we honor the Great Spirit, he will always honor us. Favor. This is one of my favorite things to listen to and learn about. Nothing fills me up with more energy and excitement than favor. And why not? You are seeking the preferential treatment of the I AM.  Favor means  (a kind or helpful act that you do for someone, approval, support, or popularity, preference for one person, group, etc., over another). By the power of the Great Lion we have favor from the Great Spirit, the Creator of the Universe, the Emperor over the sea. We have his favor. That means we have his kind or helpful acts. We have his approval. We have his support. We have h...

God’s Dream for Your Life

Image
“ ‘My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,’ says the LORD. ‘And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine.’ ” (Isaiah 55:8, NLT) TODAY’S WORD from Joel and Victoria  We all have dreams and goals. We do our best to stretch our faith and believe that one day, if we work hard enough, get the right breaks or meet the right people, we’ll see that dream come to pass. In our mind, that would be big. A great accomplishment. But, what’s big to us is not big to God. He created the universe. He spoke worlds into existence. God’s dream for your life is so much bigger than your own. See, we think ordinary; God thinks extraordinary! Today, whatever you’re dreaming about, whatever you’re believing for, know that God’s dream for your life is far greater. He wants to supersize it. He’s an overflow God. Ephesians says, “God can do exceedingly, abundantly above and beyond what we think.” Why don’t y...

The Power of a Half Hour by Tommy Barnett

"But when I had the sense that I was supposed to move to Phoenix, I also had an itch to build a church differently. Rather than do things the way my earthly father had, I was determined to build a new church the way my heavenly father wanted me to do it. What did that mean?  So I prayed....I began to study.....and I figured out  what gets His attention, and of course, passage after passage demonstrated the answer. A crying baby A dying sparrow A hungry vulture The coin the poor widow put in the offering box The woman dying of a hemmorage The theif on the cross It didn't take much discernment to see that the most vulnerable and undesirable got His attention- the castoffs captivated His heart. That is how we decided that our focus would be ministering to the people that nobody wanted.  .....After some time, the word got out about this crazy church that was taking in the undesirables, and suddenly we began to attract the people that all the ...

Stretch Out Your Hand

"Stretch out your hand with healing power; may miraculous signs and wonders be done through the name of the Great Lion." (Acts 4:30 NLT) There is power in your hands. This is a promise from above. When you stretch out your hands and ask for something, healing, increase, restoration, peace, the Creator promises he will do it for you. Our Creator says that when you ask anything in the name of The Great Lion it will be done. That is an awesome thing. I have the power to heal all of creation who are physically, financially, emotionally, and spiritually sick.  The Great Lion gave this to me as an extension of himself. Wow. I cannot tell you how many times I have tried to solve problems in my own strength. Then I start to worry and forget to be patient. One of the keys to waiting is to fill yourself up with the power of the Holy Spirit. How do you do that? You remind the Great Spirit of what he said with His promises for you. You speak them out all day long, you are th...

The Key that Opens Doors

“Giving a gift opens doors; it gives access to important people!” Proverbs 18:16 (NLT) Too often people think that to get somewhere in life they need to receive something. In other words, in order for me to get ahead I need to get that good break, I need to get that raise; I need to get that loan to go through. Really, it is just the opposite. You see, in Aslan’s kingdom, everything is upside down. When we focus on what we need to get from people to get things to happen sometimes we get stressed out and it just backfires on us. The key to opening the doors to seeing those secret petitions come to pass is to be generous; to be a giver. That’s right, what you give away will always come back to you. Sometimes giving a gift to someone can open the door to a divine connection. Maybe that person knows someone who can help you. You see, the key to everything is giving. Remember that the seed is in the barn, but unless we prepare that seed and then give it away we will never reap a ...

Think Victory!

“Today I have made you a fortified city that cannot be captured, like an iron pillar or a bronze wall. You will stand against the whole land. They will fight you but they will fail. For I am with you, and I will take care of you.” (Jeremiah 1:18 NLT) I always remember my friends saying a champion was one who won a championship. “Oh, he is a champion, look at all the success he has. He has that shoe contract, the ring, and the bling.”Even in high school sports my friends would call someone a champion based on their talent and their record. While winning championships does give you credibility in your sport, it does not last. For instance, who won the state high school football championship in 3-A five years ago? Ten years ago? Championships are more than just winning the title. No, that is not something people who have never won one say, either. When you look at the NFL there are 32 teams. At the end of the year there will be 31 losers and one winner. I am not sayi...

The Seed is in the Barn

Image
“I am giving you a promise now while the seed is  still in  the barn .  From this day onward I will bless  you.” Haggai 2:19 (NLT) What does it mean to have seed in the barn? In farming terms this means that the seeds are waiting to be planted but they are still in storage. If you apply this picture to your life you will see how the Great Spirit has already given you what you need. You just need to receive it. I think that is one of the most unique promises that Great Spirit gives. He gives us the promise that the seed is still in the barn and from this day, not yesterday, not five years ago, not five years in the future, but this day, I will bless you. Notice, the seed is  still  in the barn. That means  it never left . That miracle, idea, or hope you maybe have given up on never left. It is still there, ready to begin again. Go back to the place where you were most successful. Great Spirit is going to redeem the time. The Great...

Be the Miracle

"Too often, we complain, 'I don’t like this job. These people are so negative. Nobody has a good attitude.'Why do you think God put you there? That’s an opportunity for you to shine." (Joel Osteen, 2014) The Be the Miracle Movement. It is spontaneous. It does not just hit a particular group of people. It is moving through all of creation where the Holy Spirit needs to restore, revive, and make things new.I see it moving. There are places like Redding, California and Bethel Church that are seeing ordinary people use extraordinary power to heal, deliver, and bring a new presence to their city and culture.  There are people like Joel and Victoria Osteen and Rick Warren who do not take a salary, but teach people every day how to live on purpose. They send teams of people all over their cities and their world to do free neighborhood clean ups, trainings, and medical care. There is Pastor Tommy Barnett and his faithful Phoenix First Assembly which is labeled the Chur...
