Let Me Feel You Are There

"Then he said, 'I shall be glad of some company tonight. Yes, you may come, if you will promise to stop when I tell you, and after that leave me to go alone. Lay your hands on my mane so that I can feel you are there and let us walk like that.' The girls did what they would never have dared to do without permission, but what they longed to do since they first saw Aslan-buried their cold hands in his beautiful sea of fur."  (The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe)

There is an old story about a man who had a dream he was walking with the Great Lion. Together they were walking on a beach. The path that they were making on the beach was to symbolize his life. At one point the man looked back and noticed at some points their were two sets of footprints and then at others there was one set of footprints. "Great Lion, why are there only one set of footprints at some place among this journey? I thought you always promised to be with me?"  Then the man had a vision that during those single footprint times  those were some of the toughest times of his life. The Great Lion, in his calm voice, responded,"Friend, what you see is not one set of footprints. I never left you. During those times, I was carrying you." In the same way that Aslan walks with us, there are times when we comfort him. He has called us his friend and he is glad of our company. Today know that no matter what you are going through, no matter how difficult the task, you have a friend that sticks closer than a brother. This friend not only will carry you, but he also feeds off of your strength too. He wants to feel your presence. Today, abide in the Great Lion, you have permission to lay your hands on the Great Lion and comfort him just as he comforts you. When you do that, I believe and declare you will develop peace, strength, and love like you never imagined. Today is your day to walk with Aslan and let him feel your presence. He longs for your company.

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

More than that, thank you that Aslan longs for me to comfort him. Thank you I have permission to keep him company. Thank you for this greatest friendship, with your Son who connects us to you. By the Lion's Mane, Let this be so.
